Start here: what belongs in Signs & Banners

Welcome to the Signs & Banners board — banners, rigid signs, decals, and the finishing and installation that make them last. If you price by the square foot, this is your room.

Fundamentals to get you going:

• Price by square foot, then add finishing. Material + print is your base; hems, grommets, pole pockets, and cut-to-shape are line items on top. Bake them in or you'll eat the labor.
• Match the substrate to the environment. Indoor vs. outdoor, temporary vs. multi-year, flat vs. curved — the substrate (vinyl banner, coroplast, aluminum, PVC) is a durability decision, not just a cost one.
• Finishing is what stops callbacks. Welded hems and proper grommet spacing keep a banner from tearing out in the wind. Reinforce the corners.
• Plan the install. How it mounts changes how you build it. Ask about the wall, the frame, or the pole before you finish the piece.

How to ask a good question: give us the dimensions, the substrate, indoor/outdoor, and how it's getting mounted. A photo of the install location or the finishing issue helps a lot — attach it on the thread and you'll get spec-level answers instead of guesses.
